We are seeking a dynamic Regional Coordinator to provide confidential and efficient managerial and administrative support to the Director (Northern).
About your opportunity
As a key member of the team, you will also be required to research analyse and formulate plans and options to address a range of diverse issues relating to the Director (Northern)'s area of responsibility. In addition, you will be expected to liaise and facilitate interaction between the Director (Northern) and key stakeholders within the Department, relevant agencies and the community.
As the Regional Coordinator, you will:
- Lead and manage a work group to ensure the development of a highly motivated and skilled team through the development of a framework for service delivery in areas of business operations, quality service and resource management to meet client needs.
- Provide and co-ordinate confidential and efficient managerial and administrative support to the Director (Northern) across all regional functions and programs.
- Manage issues and complaints, coordinating a timely response from Product Centre Managers where appropriate.
- Manage ongoing regional activities as required. Examples may include security, regional building and maintenance program and/or the preparation and maintenance of Business Continuity Plans.
- Research, analyse and prepare, or coordinate the timely preparation of correspondence, briefs and reports, coordinating responses from Product Centre Managers and ensuring compliance with departmental standards and timeframes.
- Coordinate and support the effective delivery or projects and actions at a regional level. In particular:
• Undertake special projects relating to regional business, administration or service delivery;
• Prepare and co-ordinate information for meetings and committees, distribute and follow up actions arising from such meetings;
• Monitor progress and report to the Director (Northern) on projects and action items.
- As required by regional arrangements, ensure the delivery of efficient, effective and client focussed services by regional administrative support staff and in particular:
• Collaboratively develop and manage goals, targets and performance standards;
• Proactively manage and supervise within the workplace all aspects of staff performance management including recruitment and selection, appraising and developing staff, ethical behaviour and decision-making;
• Provide a safe and healthy workplace through managing resources to ensure compliance with workplace health and safety and employee rehabilitation legislation, codes of practice, standards and departmental policy and procedures including risk management and corrective action programs.
Please note: this position is part of the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB) as part of the recent machinery-of-government changes. CDSB is currently in negotiations for a certified agreement to cover all CDSB employees. In the meantime, the TMR Agreement conditions apply to this position.
