We are searching for our next Behaviour Support Practitioner to work with NDIS participants in and around the Ipswich region in a community based setting.
Whilst previous experience working as a BSP is an advantage, we are alsoopen to applications from those who have extensive experience working in the disability sector, as this role will see you working with adults and children with disabilities and challenging behaviours.
Responsibilitieswill include:
- Assisting NDIS participants, along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
- Evaluating, developing and delivering evidence-based support plans within a complex support space
- Developing meaningful goals and practical strategiesutilising a positive behaviour support framework, and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community
- Ensuring individual plans reflect our NDIS participants' goals, passions and strengths, as well as ensuring they get more out of life
- Building the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers, friends, etc
- Acting as an advocate and role model for best practice
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

To be considered suitable you will have:
- Extensive experience working in the NDIS and supporting those with disabilities and challenging behaviours
- Understanding of Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices
- Eligible to apply for suitability-with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
- Completed adegree level qualification as an allied health professional
- Hold and maintain membership/registration with one of the following:AHPRA, ESSA, SPA, AOB, ANZACATA, AASW
- Report writing experience
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
- Proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
- Genuine passion for working in the disability sector
