Job Overview

This is a fixed-term post for up to 18 months to meet service needs, specifically a vacancy until March 2027, 30 hours per week. We seek a motivated, enthusiastic practitioner passionate about improving care for people with dementia and their carers to join the Mapping, Education and Carers Service (MECS).

The service covers Gwent, and the post holder must be able to travel across different sites, including care homes and hospital settings. Supervision and professional development opportunities will be provided.

English and/or Welsh speakers are equally encouraged to apply.

Main duties of the job
  • Dementia Care Mapping: Observing people with dementia, assessing needs, and supporting care teams.
  • Carers Education: Providing support and education for carers of loved ones with dementia.
  • Staff Training: Designing and delivering staff learning and development programs.
