Specialising in the overhaul and repair of underground mining equipment—particularly hydraulic systems—we're known for our high-quality workmanship, safety-first approach, and skilled team. We are currently seeking experienced hydraulic fitters with expertise in valve banks and cylinders to join our dynamic workshop.
Our engineering workshop delivers precision repairs with unmatched lead times, ensuring reliability and excellence every time.
About the roleThis is a hands-on role involving the stripping, repair, maintenance, and testing of hydraulic systems—primarily valve banks, cylinders, and related components. You\'ll play a key role in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of mining equipment in our main workshop at Beresfield.
Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble, install, and maintain hydraulic systems (valve banks, cylinders, directional control valves, pressure relief valves, etc.)
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on hydraulic valve banks, cylinders, pumps, and other components
Disassemble, clean, inspect, and rebuild components to OEM specifications
Conduct pressure and flow testing to ensure system performance
Interpret hydraulic schematics, technical drawings, and manuals
Maintain accurate service, maintenance, and test records
Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to troubleshoot complex faults
Identify and recommend improvements or upgrades to hydraulic systems
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
Adhere to all safety and quality procedures
Skills and QualificationsTo be considered for the Workshop Role, applicant must have:
Trade qualification: Fitter, Fitter & Turner, or Hydraulic Fitter
Minimum 7 years\' experience in hydraulic systems maintenance, particularly valve banks and cylinders
Strong knowledge of hydraulic components, including proportional and servo valves
Competence in reading hydraulic schematics and technical documentation
Familiarity with pressure testing procedures and equipment
Excellent mechanical and problem-solving skills
Strong safety awareness and commitment to WHS standards
Basic computer skills for job logging and reporting
Driver\'s Licence
Desirable Qualifications (Not Essential)Experience with hydraulic systems in mining, mobile plant, or heavy industry
High-risk work licenses (e.g. forklift, dogging)
Knowledge of ISO cleanliness standards and hydraulic cleanliness protocols
OEM training or certification (e.g. Bosch Rexroth, Danfoss, Parker)
