
Hydraulic Systems Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Hydraulic Fitter to join our dynamic workshop.
This hands-on role involves the stripping, repair, maintenance, and testing of hydraulic systems - primarily valve banks, cylinders, and related components.
The successful applicant will play a key role in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of mining equipment in our main workshop at Beresfield.
Key Responsibilities:- Assemble, install, and maintain hydraulic systems (valve banks, cylinders, directional control valves, pressure relief valves, etc.)
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on hydraulic valve banks, cylinders, pumps, and other components
- Disassemble, clean, inspect, and rebuild components to OEM specifications
- Conduct pressure and flow testing to ensure system performance
- Interpret hydraulic schematics, technical drawings, and manuals
- Maintain accurate service, maintenance, and test records
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians to troubleshoot complex faults
- Identify and recommend improvements or upgrades to hydraulic systems
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Adhere to all safety and quality procedures
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
- A trade qualification as a Fitter, Fitter & Turner, or Hydraulic Fitter
- A minimum 7 years' experience in hydraulic systems maintenance, particularly valve banks and cylinders
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic components, including proportional and servo valves
- Competence in reading hydraulic schematics and technical documentation
- Familiarity with pressure testing procedures and equipment
- Excellent mechanical and problem-solving skills
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to WHS standards
- Basic computer skills for job logging and reporting
- A current Australian driver's licence
