The Role

As the senior operator, you will oversee and manage end-to-end freight forwarding operations across air, sea, and land. You will be responsible for ensuring seamless coordination between clients, carriers, customs, and internal teams, while maintaining compliance with international shipping regulations. For the right candidate the opportunity will be available to grow into a management/supervisory role.


Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee daily operations of freight forwarding activities.
  • Coordinate shipments, bookings, and documentation with carriers and agents.
  • Supervise and support junior operations staff, providing training and guidance.
  • Ensure full compliance with customs, trade, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor KPIs and operational performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Liaise with clients to resolve operational issues and ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Collaborate with finance on billing, cost control, and profitability.

Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in freight forwarding operations, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
  • Strong knowledge of international shipping, import/export procedures, and customs regulations.
  • Solid understanding of wharf cartage and general transport.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in freight forwarding software (Cargowise) and MS Office tools.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
