Doomadgee State School is seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative Head of Department - Student Services to lead our Student Support Team.

This is a temporary opportunity until 11 December 2026 unless otherwise determined.

You will focus on strengthening inclusive practices, leading wellbeing initiatives, and supporting student engagement across the school community.

Doomadgee State School is a Prep-Year 10 campus located in Queensland's remote Gulf region.

About The Role

As the Head of Department - Student Services, you will:

  • Lead inclusive student support services that enhance wellbeing and attendance, enable intervention and access.
  • Lead a broad range of student support programs, including counselling, welfare, attendance, and special needs coordination.
  • Collaborate with staff, families, and external agencies, you will deliver tailored support that promotes student wellbeing, engagement, and academic success.
  • Ensure equitable access to education and fostering a positive, inclusive school culture.
