Base pay range

A$160,000.00/yr - A$170,000.00/yr

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced BI Developer (Data Engineer) to support a major data and analytics project. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, building, and optimising scalable data pipelines, ensuring the integrity and accessibility of data across the organisation.

Working with cloud-based platforms such as Snowflake and supporting reporting environments in Power BI, you will help transform raw data into high-quality, business-ready insights that drive decision-making.

In this role you report directly to the Head of Data and you will be instrumental in some of the key decision making contributions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines to support analytics and reporting.
  • Write and optimise SQL queries for high-performing data processing and retrieval.
  • Integrate and transform data from multiple sources using ETL frameworks and tools.
  • Support and maintain cloud data warehouse infrastructure, including Snowflake.
  • Partner with analysts and BI developers to enable robust Power BI reporting solutions.
  • Ensure data accuracy, quality, and governance across all stages of the pipeline.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will bring a blend of technical expertise and business acumen.

Essential skills include:

  • Excellent data modelling skills and proven ability to build data warehouses according to the Kimball stars and dimension principles.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with large-scale data queries.
  • Proven experience in data pipeline development, data transformation, and integration.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud platforms.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling and performance optimisation.
  • Experience supporting Power BI reporting environments.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality practices.
  • Experience in data visualisation and advanced BI modelling.
