Job Description

Inspec Industries has extensive experience covering all aspects of the mining and earthmoving industries. The company has developed its business with a focus on high-quality workmanship and customer service. Currently, they are recruiting for an experienced Blast and Painter to join their Dysart and Paget (Mackay) service depots in QLD. The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:

  • Operate abrasive blasting machinery and maintain the equipment.
  • Clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents, or otherwise prepare fabricated steel items for painting and/or other protective coatings.
  • Operate various equipment, such as blast pots and spray guns.
  • Knowledge of various painting methods and applications.
  • Sandblasting, abrasive and chemical techniques, masking, and etching of applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings.
  • Safe operation of tools and equipment.
  • Grinding, sanding, and polishing of steel.
  • Understanding of painting, caulking, and sealing, and ability to apply them.
  • Ability to apply all types of coatings using various application methods.

Skills & Abilities :

  • Certificate III in Surface Preparation / Certificate III in Painting Decorating or relevant qualification.
  • Ideally, have 3 years of experience within a relevant or similar field.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
