The Opportunity

The In-Work Support Mentor (IWSM) plays a vital role in helping individuals maintain sustainable employment outcomes. You will provide ongoing mentoring, guidance, and practical assistance to participants and employers to resolve workplace challenges, strengthen retention, and promote long-term success. You will collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure participants have the support they need to thrive and achieve their employment goals.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure each participant's needs and employment aspirations are central to your work.
  • Provide tailored post-placement and on-the-job support to maintain sustainable employment.
  • Mentor participants and offer specialized assistance to address workplace or personal barriers.
  • Engage with local communities, industries, and stakeholders to identify growth opportunities for the organisation.
  • Monitor placement progress and outcomes and communicate risks to relevant team members.
  • Review participants' hours and income to support accurate reporting and compliance.
  • Maintain clear, compliant records of ongoing employment and services provided.
  • Communicate proactively with team regarding job loss, potential job loss, or reduced hours; act quickly to resolve issues.
  • Represent Help Employment at networking events and in the community, upholding the organisation's Mission, Vision, and Values.
About You

  • Prior Employment Services experience is highly regarded
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with participants and employers

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • Strong administration and compliance capabilities with high attention to detail
  • Resilient and able to thrive in a changing environment
