Overview

Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. Harmony owns 100% of the Eva Copper project, a near-term copper project in Queensland, Australia. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager – Human Resources & Community, the newly created role of Executive Support – Operations will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and professional operation of the Operations corporate office, supporting a workforce of approximately 90 employees, including senior executives. Based at our office in Milton, this role ensures smooth day-to-day office operations, manages the Office Administrator, and provides high-level executive support with complex travel, scheduling, and event coordination.

Responsibilities
  • Office Operations & Management: Manage day-to-day operations of the Operations corporate office to ensure a professional and efficient working environment.
  • Office services: Oversee reception, facilities management, stationery, equipment, and meeting room coordination.
  • Vendor and safety liaison: Liaise with building management, contractors, and vendors to maintain office standards, safety, and compliance.
  • Procedures and systems: Implement and improve office procedures, policies, and systems.
    • Operations Executive & Senior Leadership Support: Provide high-level administrative support to senior executives, including meeting coordination and document preparation.
    • Travel management: Manage intricate domestic and international travel arrangements, including flights, accommodation, visas, and ground transport.
    • Events coordination: Coordinate boardroom bookings, executive events, and corporate functions.
    • Documentation: Prepare reports, correspondence, and documentation on behalf of senior leadership.
    • Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive corporate and executive matters.
      • People Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the Office Administrator to deliver high-quality service; allocate workloads and monitor performance; foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
        • Financial & Procurement Support: Manage sourcing and purchasing of office supplies, vendor contracts, and invoice approvals; provide support for credit card and expense reconciliations for senior leaders within the department.
        About You

To succeed in this role, you should be self-motivated and able to work efficiently and collaboratively with the following experience:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in office management, executive support, or senior administration in a corporate environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex domestic and international travel itineraries.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience supervising administrative staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and travel booking systems.
  • Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
