We have a great contracting opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel to work with a state owned corporation in the property sector.

About the role

Our client's legal team have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel to join them for a fixed period of 6 to 12 months.

Reporting to the Director of Legal, the Senior Lawyer will be a trusted legal advisor and provide high quality legal advice. You will need to be proactive, bring a can-do attitude and demonstrate a keen interest in providing solutions, including:

• Providing legal advice in relation to capital transactions, market processes, development activities, dispute resolution and regulatory compliance.
• Developing and structuring transactions.
• Educating project teams and other business stakeholders on the legal aspects of the business's activities
• Managing external lawyers and probity advisors.
• Assisting in the training and mentoring of lawyers and paralegals.

Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in law and admitted in New South Wales.
• Substantial experience in property and/or construction law; drafting and negotiating complex property and project documentation.
• High-level written and oral communication skills with the ability to influence and engage with key stakeholders.
• Exposure to construction, planning, tax and litigation within the property development context.
