The RoleReporting to the General Manager, together with your professional approach and strong organisational skills, our client is looking for a Senior Taxation Associate to work on a wide variety of matters including all Taxation disputes in conjunction with another very Senior Associate. This division is expanding
- Managing from tax disputes end to end, including audits, ATO negotiations and court appeals
- Work with Corporates & Individuals with complex matters, taxation issues, CGT, superannuation, and related commercial documentation
- Drafting and advising on estate planning, trusts deeds, superannuation, international tax, CGT
- Mentor and support graduate lawyers in their career growth
- Serving as main point of contact keeping clients and relevant parties well informed
- Engage in negotiations on behalf of clients and manage client expectations
- Participate in mediations and counsel conferences
- Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and ensure a cohesive team environment
- Establishing long-term, trusting relationships & rapport with customers
- Attend networking events and provide information sessions for community and professional groups from time to time
- Other duties as required
You will be a forward thinking and self motivated individual who is committed to assisting clients and the team to reach their full potential.
- Relevant Australian recognised law degree with an admission to practice law in South Australia with a current unrestricted practicing certificate
- Masters of Taxation would be highly desirable
- 5+ years post-admission experience
- Commercial mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Prioritisation, organisation & time management skills to meet objectives
- Problem-solving skills
- Strong advocacy and negotiation skills with high levels of discretion and ethical judgement
- Ability to adhere to policies, procedures & protocols while still being flexible and empathetic with customer solutions
