As part of the Swan Christian Education Association (SCEA), ECC is grounded in strong Christian values and committed to equipping students to flourish in life and faith.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Education Assistant (Early Learning) to join our dynamic teaching team, commencing Term 1, 2026. This full-time education assistant role is an opportunity to join a dynamic Primary School team and shape a flourishing learning community grounded in Gospel truth.

This is not just a role — it's a sacred opportunity to nurture young hearts and minds. You'll assist with grace and conviction, sowing seeds of faith and learning that will shape lives for eternity.

  • Prepare, clean, and maintain the learning environment, materials, and equipment.
  • Assist with classroom management, student routines, wellbeing, and minor first aid.
  • Observe and document student learning and behaviour, providing feedback to the teacher.
  • Collaborate with specialists to apply strategies for individual student needs.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment by modelling positive behaviour and following the school's Behaviour Management Policy.
Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • A personal commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and active involvement in a Christian church.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, parents, staff, and other professionals.
  • A commitment to pastoral care, with an understanding of social issues that impact young children.
  • Ability to act with discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times.
  • Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
  • National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).

Desirable:

  • Certificate III (or higher) in Early Childhood Education and Care, Education Support, or a related qualification and/or experience.
  • Previous experience working in an early childhood or junior primary classroom setting.
  • Knowledge of child development and early intervention strategies.
  • Experience supporting children with diverse learning needs, including those with disabilities or additional behavioural, social, or emotional needs.
  • First Aid qualifications.
What We Offer
  • A purpose-filled teaching role in a growing and vibrant Christian school
  • A faith-aligned community committed to student wellbeing and staff support
  • Competitive salary, salary packaging, and professional development
  • Regular teacher holidays with leadership work
  • The opportunity to shape a learning culture where all students are known, supported, and celebrated
