General Manager, Group Finance — Dexus

Dexus (ASX: DXS) is a leading Australasian fully integrated real asset group, managing a high-quality portfolio valued at $50.1 billion. This role leads a high-performing team responsible for Management Reporting, Financial Reporting, AFSL Compliance, Treasury Reporting, and Tax Compliance, providing commercial and technical accounting support to the broader Finance function and business.

This is a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for day-to-day accounting operations, preparation of financial statements and results materials, application of accounting policies, and delivery of insightful reporting to the Board and Executive Committee. The role supports commercial due diligence and requires deep understanding of the Group's activities.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Culture: Shape a high-performing, engaged team culture, ensure appropriate resourcing, foster constructive behaviours, provide clear direction, feedback, and development opportunities. Act as a member of the Group & Funds Finance Leadership Team.
  • Financial & Compliance Reporting: Oversee month-end processes, preparation and audit of financial statements and investor results materials, and compliance reporting (including AFSL and treasury obligations).
  • Tax & External Audit Relationships: Lead tax compliance activities (tax returns, distribution and AMMA statements, BAS lodgements) and manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors for timely issue resolution.
  • Commercial & Transactional Advisory: Provide commercial accounting advice and lead financial transaction support across the platform, partnering with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Continuous Improvement: Build relationships with senior finance leaders and external partners to resolve complex accounting matters; champion a culture of continuous improvement in reporting quality, timeliness, and insightfulness.
About you
  • Tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting; CA/CPA qualified.
  • 10+ years post CA/CPA experience in a mix of reporting, technical, commercial and/or transaction roles within chartered/commerce environments.
  • Experience in a Big 4 or commercial Transaction Advisory is advantageous.
  • Proven managerial experience leading teams.
  • Experience with finance systems (Yardi, TM1, Workiva preferred).
  • Experience in an ASX-listed environment.
  • Ability to communicate complex matters clearly and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills; able to prioritise in dynamic environments.
