About the project

DCOH has been engaged to deliver the proposed new Civic Centre project, a transformative $150 million development designed to reflect Darwin's cultural heritage and meet its growing needs.

Large Scale, PCA A Grade Project

The $150 million civic centre project offers significant opportunities for hands-on experience in delivering a 21 storey premium PCA A Grade commercial building right in the heart of the city.

Diverse and Multifaceted Scope

The project encompasses a variety of functional spaces, including customer services, council chambers, office areas, and a public plaza, alongside operational elements like carparking and building infrastructure.

Commitment to Long-Term Community Impact

With construction expected to create over 500 jobs and designs honouring Galamarrma, the Tree of Knowledge, this project aligns with principles of sustainable development and cultural respect.

WHO YOU ARE

You are a skilled Senior Project Coordinator with hands-on experience managing subcontractors and work packages on commercial projects.

  • Proven experience in Building works and managing subcontractors on commercial projects
  • Ensure works are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple competing tasks
  • Sound knowledge of safety and quality control requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with teams, clients, and subcontractors
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Tertiary or Certificate-level qualification in Construction, or equivalent experience

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As Senior Project Coordinator, you will take responsibility for managing assigned work packages as the Package Manager, leading coordination efforts to deliver all elements from procurement to onsite completion.

  • Act as the Package Manager for assigned building work packages, overseeing all stages from procurement to delivery
  • Assist in procurement activities including scope creation, quote management, and subcontractor vetting
  • Maintain detailed knowledge of drawings, scopes, briefs, and project requirements
  • Assist project leadership with planning, scheduling, and tracking site activities
  • Monitor progress against project timelines and address any delays proactively
  • Prepare and provide timely progress reports and maintain accurate site records
  • Coordinate subcontractors, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and schedule obligations
  • Engage with consultants and subcontractors to manage RFIs, shop drawings, inspections, defects, and NCRs
  • Support quality control processes including ITPs, defect management
  • Foster strong stakeholder relationships and facilitate collaboration between all project parties
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professionalism in line with the DCOH Code of Conduct
