This role will encompass working closely with the school based support team specialists and where appropriate external personnel, to develop and implement intervention strategies and plans for students in the junior secondary phase of learning. The successful applicant will provide exceptional support to students who require support to develop positive learning behaviours.

A little over an hour from Brisbane, Kilcoy is surrounded by a scenic landscape of rolling hills and rugged mountain ranges with views over the northern reaches of Lake Somerset. Our school celebrates a strong sense of community and is proud of the ways we celebrate the richness and diversity of our students. Kilcoy is an agricultural based community, with primary industries in cattle. Our school offers an outstanding agricultural program, which takes place on our small farm.
About the RoleThe Head of Department - Student Engagement will work closely with students, their families and teachers to support students to engage positively in the school and achieve individualised success.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Be an active member of the school PBL team and 4 Dimensions for positive interactions team
- Analyse junior secondary specific data to collaborate with the junior secondary deputy principal to lead the development and implementation of appropriate tiered intervention strategies, including tracking academic engagement, attendance and behaviour
- Contribute to weekly student support team meetings
- Case manage identified students
- Lead and oversee co-curricular and extra-curricular programs to build a positive culture of engagement and learning
- Work closely with parents to achieve shared goals for their students
