UMA is on the lookout for a Performance Media Director to join their digital marketing team. The Performance Media Director is responsible for leading the performance media team to build, optimise and drive the success of UMA's digital media campaigns, with a focus on both artist promotion and media buying for eCommerce campaigns. The role involves utilising a variety of innovative media buying techniques to effectively promote artists and drive eCommerce performance.
We are looking for an individual who has a deep interest in music, a passion for digital media buying and is a hands on dynamic problem-solver with a sound understanding of the ever-changing digital mediascape. The ideal candidate should be confident in stakeholder management, skilled in leveraging data and content to inform planning, buying, and overall campaign strategy across both artist promotion and their eCommerce initiatives to achieve maximum impact.

Responsibilities- Lead by example with hands-on platform execution, setting up, optimising, and troubleshooting campaigns to achieve KPIs. Act as the go-to problem-solver for complex media and tracking challenges, and guide the team in applying best-practice strategies that adapt to evolving platform capabilities and industry changes.
- Support UMA labels in planning biddable media campaigns across display, video, search and social.
- Manage media budgets, draft and revise media schedules, along with accompanying rationale.
- Ensure campaigns are created and implemented to best achieve campaign performance and media efficiency goals.
- Use insights from internal and external sources to build a case for campaign strategy.
- Build and manage biddable media campaigns within demand-side platforms and across partners such as Meta, TikTok, Google Ads, DV360, etc.
- Work closely with the wider UMA team to report performance and deliver campaigns in line with performance targets, and with label teams to recommend optimal content and asset creation.
- Coach and mentor other members of the PM team and ensure they have the tools and skills to deliver on their campaigns.
- Participate in developing the PM strategy to align with the broader commercial strategy and deliverables.
- Act as an optimisation expert for each buying platform used, and regularly advise labels of additional opportunities.
- Prepare analysis and insights to accompany reports provided to the labels.
- Stay apprised of opportunities for reaching the target audiences of UMA artists.
- Expert level proficiency in Meta, TikTok, and Google Ads, with a demonstrable history of optimising campaign structures to deliver on KPIs.
- Strong expertise in event tracking, server-side tagging, and attribution to ensure accurate measurement. Able to troubleshoot complex issues across platforms and tracking setups, while providing hands-on guidance to the team to ensure best-practice execution.
- Media agency experience preferred.
- 8+ years of direct experience within digital media and performance marketing channels such as paid search, programmatic paid social.
- 2+ years of management experience.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, commerce, media or other relevant areas are preferred.
- Results-driven, with a strong understanding of event tracking, app conversions and customer acquisition.
- Experience in marketing with media partners and publications; obtaining and reviewing quotes, making recommendations and negotiations, etc.
- Ability to analyse performance of channels and shift media spend in response on a regular basis.
- Experience in budget management with an ability to analyse performance of different channels.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organised, adaptable and a problem-solver.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and provide input.
- Excellent at working and delivering against deadlines, thinking proactively with the ability to meet goals under pressure.
