We are currently seeking a casual Medical Receptionist / Secretary to join a specialist Ophthalmology practice with clinics in both Tweed Heads and Robina. Previous experience in a specialist practice preferred but would also consider a junior role with training provided.

Gold Coast and Tweed Eye Doctors are located in Tweed Heads and Robina. The team consists of 4 Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, clinical and admin team members. You will be working with an experienced team of Administrators who will provide the appropriate training. This role involves a high level of accuracy, efficiency and the ability to multi-skill and prioritise large volumes of tasks whilst working on a busy reception desk.

We are looking for a dedicated team member to join a hard working but fun team. The flexibility to travel to Tweed Heads or Robina is expected.

Responsibilities will include the following using VIP (patient management system) :

All reception duties including phone, making appointments, check in and check out of patient

Invoicing, receipting, batching of Medicare and Health Funds

Rejections and resubmissions of Medicare and Health Funds

Banking and reconciliations

Surgical bookings and billing

Management of internal referrals and correspondence

Management of external letters to referrers

Triaging patients for appointments

Appointment book management

The successful applicant will have :

A positive and proactive attitude

Exceptional attention to detail

The ability to work as part of a team and autonomously

A high level of customer service

Reliable, efficient and able to work under pressure.

Flexibility with start and finish times

Flexibility to work at both locations in Tweed Heads and Robina on a roster basis.

Experience working in an ophthalmic practice will be an advantage.

Experience with VIP will be an advantage
