The Opportunity: Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Shift Fitter in the Blast Furnace maintenance team based in Port Kembla. You will join a cross-functional team that provides maintenance support to the No.5 and No.6 Blast Furnace units, ensuring equipment is maintained to high standards to meet quality and reliability objectives. This is a shift position that also includes a shift relief component. You will initially work a 12-hour, 24x7 rotating roster (days and nights, Monday to Sunday) to support the No.6 Blast Furnace until mid-2026; hours/shift may change after completion.

Responsibilities
  • Isolate equipment and perform maintenance and repairs
  • Inspect quality-critical equipment and fault find
  • Resolve issues and fix non-conformances
  • Seek ways to continuously improve maintenance strategies
  • Provide supply, stock and purchase requisitions, schedules, work orders, and parts listings via the computerised maintenance management system (SAP)
Qualifications
  • Mechanical trade qualification
  • Experience within a maintenance function
  • Experience working both independently and as part of a manufacturing team
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
  • A commitment to personal safety and wellbeing and care for others
