Job Description

We are seeking a friendly and caring social volunteer to provide weekly face-to-face visits.

Originally from Italy and having moved to Australia as a child, this client has a deep passion for gardening, especially tending to her roses and vegetables, and enjoys watching the Italian channel on TV. A devout Catholic and former seamstress, she would benefit from ongoing social visits and conversations, as she is adjusting to life after the passing of her husband a few years ago.

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Requirements


• 18 years or older

• National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a 30-minute visit between 9am and 5pm Monday to Sunday; visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.
