An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Graduate or Junior Planner to join SLR's national Planning team in Brisbane. This is a full-time position where you will be working with a supportive team of Planning professionals who are leaders in their field.
Joining a team of 10 Planners in Brisbane and 50+ in Australia, this role will challenge you and promote your development and knowledge in a variety of industry sectors including the built environment, renewable energy, industry, and infrastructure.
You'll receive technical development day to day, while also providing the opportunity to be part of a structured learning program. Whether you've recently graduated or have 1-2 years of experience in the industry and are looking to accelerate your career, this is the opportunity for you.
You will be provided the opportunity to work independently, from project inception through to approval, on small scale projects as well as being part of larger, multi-discipline teams working on more complex projects.
Key Responsibilities:
As part of the Planning team in SLR, you will be responsible for carrying out services that range from:
- Assisting with preparing planning reports at both a local and state significant scale,
- Preparing feasibility reports and due diligence advice,
- Briefing and managing specialist subcontractors,
- Attending meetings and liaising with clients, councils, consultants & other government agencies.
You will be supported by senior consultants to develop detailed knowledge and understanding of the Planning industry.
As a self-starter, you will be able to display confidence and an eagerness to learn. This is the perfect career starter in the consulting industry and the Planning sector.
Experience:
The ideal candidates will have:
- A university qualification in Town Planning or another relevant degree.
- The ability to analyse and interpret situations and problems to develop appropriate solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and high computer literacy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Strong time management skills.
- Australian citizenship or rights to work in Australia.
Experience in the following areas will be advantageous to your application:
- Exposure to/understanding of town planning, property, development environment
- Exposure to the consulting industry.
