Head of Corporate Services
Location: Adelaide preferred, but open to Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne or Newcastle

MLEI is seeking an experienced, strategic, and people-focused leader to join our growing team as Head of Corporate Services. This is a newly created national role designed to enhance and oversee the integration and delivery of key internal business functions that support the success of our multidisciplinary engineering firm.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with the executive leadership team, the successful candidate will lead and support a boutique, high-performing team across people, systems, office operations, and compliance. You'll drive operational excellence, embed structure, and ensure our internal services align with MLEI's national growth and culture.

The ideal candidate will be both hands-on and strategic - someone who enjoys working with people, developing systems, and leading continuous improvement across business support functions.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

1. People & Culture

Champion an inclusive, values-led workplace culture across all offices

Lead initiatives that build team capability, engagement, and cohesion

Support managers to foster collaborative, high-performing teams

Oversee consistency in people-related practices (e.g. onboarding, goal setting, internal comms)

Promote staff wellbeing, recognition, and retention in line with MLEI's values

2. IT & Systems

Work with internal/external IT providers to ensure secure, scalable systems

Champion digital tools and platforms that improve team efficiency and collaboration

Oversee lifecycle management of hardware, software, and data

3. Office Management

Provide national oversight of office operations and administration

Ensure consistent, professional working environments across all locations

Support corporate hospitality, internal events, and communications

4. Quality, Systems & Processes

Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of MLEI's Quality Management System, including ensuring ISO compliance.

Lead initiatives to improve documentation, process consistency, and operational efficiency

Embed scalable systems to support growth and service delivery

5. Work Health & Safety and Environment

Oversee WHS and Environmental policies nationally, including ISO compliance

Ensure workplace safety standards and risk management are upheld in every office

Support delivery of WHS training, audits, and incident procedures

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Proven experience in a senior operations or corporate services role, ideally in a professional services or engineering setting

Strong understanding of IT systems, WHS&E, quality frameworks, and organisational culture

Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills

Ability to think strategically and execute practical solutions

Highly organised, with attention to detail and a proactive mindset

Bachelors in Business Administration is preferable

Willingness to travel to interstate offices as required

MLEI's head office is in the heart of Adelaide's CBD, recently upgraded with a 2023 fit-out. The space features modern breakout areas, training rooms, and a dedicated social floor for team lunches, events, and gatherings. While Adelaide is the preferred location for this role, we welcome strong applicants based in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, or Newcastle who can travel and lead nationally.
