As an Operations Electrical & Automation Engineer, you will lead the development and implementation of safe, compliant, and efficient electrical and automation systems across Re.Cycle's material recovery facilities. This hands-on role supports technical reliability, fault diagnostics, and capital project delivery, working closely with site operations, engineering, and strategic teams.

About the role:

  • Develop and implement electrical and automation standards across all sites, in accordance with Australian regulations (e.g. AS/NZS 3000:2018, AS 2467-2008).
  • Lead preventative and planned maintenance strategies, ensuring safe and efficient plant operations.
  • Support and coordinate the electrical and automation elements of capital projects and asset upgrades.
  • Conduct advanced fault diagnosis and root cause analysis (RCA) on breakdowns, ensuring learnings are applied across the network.
  • Collaborate with site teams and contractors to ensure electrical work meets Re.Group's safety and performance expectations.
  • Manage and optimise expenditure by monitoring contractor performance and driving alignment to technical standards.
  • Contribute to the development of in-house capabilities, supporting dual-trade and electrical skills development within site teams.

About you:

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in electrical and automation engineering roles, ideally in manufacturing or recycling environments.
  • Strong understanding of Australian electrical safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with automation systems and continuous process operations.
  • Proven ability to work across multiple sites with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills.
  • A passion for safe systems of work and continuous improvement.
