Job Description:

That's why we're looking for a Regulatory Compliance Specialist who's passionate about making a difference through science, policy, and both internal and external partnerships.

As our Regulatory Compliance Specialist, you'll be the go-to expert for ensuring regulatory compliance across our Petcare Segment in Australia and New Zealand. You'll ensure our products meet local regulatory standards—from formulation and labelling to import requirements—enabling safe, legal, and efficient market access.

What You'll Do:
  • Ensure local regulatory compliance for product recipes, labels, claims, and import documentation.

    • In time, lead the regulatory interface for the New Zealand business, collaborating with key functions including Legal, Corporate Affairs, and regional Regulatory Affairs.

      • Liaise with NZ regulatory authorities, such as Ministry of Primary Industry, providing interpretation and ensuring compliance for Petcare.

        • Define and maintain local label content and coding requirements for new and existing products.

          • Represent Mars in industry bodies or committees, helping to shape a progressive and business-enabling regulatory environment.

            • Work collaboratively with Project Management, Marketing, Quality and Food Safety, and Legal teams

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience working with or in regulatory affairs, preferably within FMCG, food, or pet sectors.

    • Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder engagement skills – you'll be keen to act not just as an enforcer but a true advisor and partner.

      • Ability to interpret and apply legislation and work confidently with legal and governmental entities.

        • A collaborative mindset and desire to contribute to industry-wide improvements and standards.

          • An understanding of New Zealand food, pet, and/or agricultural regulations or ability learn quickly preferred.
