Maintenance Manager

We are currently seeking a dedicated Maintenance Manager to join our Bristile Roofing Maintenance team in Dandenong, Victoria. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be primarily responsible for planning, organising, controlling, and managing the Maintenance Department using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (currently MaintainX) to ensure an efficiently run and cost-effective plant with minimal downtime and production disruptions. This role also involves safely and efficiently performing emergency, project, and preventative maintenance on electrical machines, instruments, equipment, and control systems.

• Provide technical backup for maintenance staff
• Ensure equipment meets Australian standards and work complies with relevant legislation
• Support safety committee and engineering in drafting, implementing and enforcing safety procedures
• Establish and maintain effective preventative maintenance system to minimise downtime
• Collaborate with Plant Manager and team to manage maintenance budget
• Plan major maintenance to minimise downtime & improve changeover times
• Assist in reducing downtime by eliminating major areas of concern
• Ensure planned maintenance does not exceed the timeframe agreed upon by all relevant parties
• Ensure daily maintenance meets company quality standards
• Liaise with Maintenance Planner to ensure equipment has sufficient spares for high-quality output
• Assist in carrying out internal audits as required
• Assist in training maintenance staff and sourcing external courses to boost skills
• Lead and contribute to Operational Excellence initiatives and projects

• Proven leadership in managing and developing teams
• Experience using Maintenance Management System (currently MaintainX)
• Engineering Degree or Trade Certificate
• A Class Electrician Licence
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics
• Able to read schematic drawings & specifications
• Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills
• Skilled in operating machinery per SOPs
• Effective at prioritising tasks & responding to breakdowns
• Strong problem-solving & fault-finding abilities
• Capable of routine machine cleaning & housekeeping
