What you'll be doing

Western Sydney Local Health District Mental Health Services seeks two dedicated Registered Nurses to provide person-centred, recovery-focused care for people with severe and persistent mental illness.

  • Deliver assessment, triage, interventions and care planning
  • Work collaboratively with consumers, carers and agencies
  • Support recovery through advocacy and service coordination
  • Participate in quality improvement and service development
  • Engage in professional supervision and ongoing education

Essential Requirements

  • Qualification: Relevant tertiary qualifications as a Registered Nurse

  • Registration: Demonstrated full registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrated skills in mental health and discipline-specific assessments and interventions and experience working with people with severe and persistent mental illness.

  • Demonstrated understanding and ability to work within a team and knowledge of the principles that guide service delivery within this model of practice.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate meaningfully with consumers and carers with a commitment to and understanding of recovery principles in mental health service provision.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act, 2007.

  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and good interpersonal skills.

  • Computer competence and literacy including the use of database systems.

  • Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia.
