About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Shift Fitter to join our team at Rooty Hill. This role involves managing breakdowns, performing planned maintenance, and implementing improvements at our manufacturing and distribution site. You will operate with a balance of support and autonomy within a safety-focused, dynamic environment, gaining valuable knowledge from experienced colleagues.

Key Duties include:

  • Executing preventative and predictive maintenance, and attending to breakdowns as needed.
  • Troubleshooting issues and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
  • Providing feedback and maintaining accurate records via our maintenance management system.
  • Coordinating with workshop trades and external contractors.
  • Executing planned shutdowns and repairs efficiently.
  • Completing all tasks with high quality and safety standards.

Ideal candidates will be Maintenance Fitters who prioritize safety, efficiency, teamwork, and demonstrate initiative. We welcome energetic and reliable applicants who meet the following criteria:

  • Relevant mechanical trade qualification and experience in Heavy Industry.
  • Experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to fabricate and weld to testing standards.
  • Proactive approach with safety and customer focus.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of working independently and guiding contractors.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings.
  • Extensive experience in Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
  • Proficiency in computer skills; SAP experience is highly regarded.
  • Previous shutdown activity experience.
  • Safety certifications such as Working at Heights are desirable.
