Make a Difference

The Echo Technologist provides ultrasound diagnostic tests for patients as ordered by physicians, including:

  1. Performs 2-D/Doppler/Colorflow ultrasound as directed by physicians.
  2. Performs transesophageal, stress, and contrast echocardiograms.
  3. Schedules patients and explains procedures.
  4. Positions patients and selects appropriate transducers.
  5. Maintains ultrasound equipment.
  6. Orders and stocks ultrasound supplies.

Exceptional Skills And Qualifications

  • Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology to identify imaging areas.
  • Skills in operating ultrasound equipment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients and medical staff.
  • Adaptability to guidelines and procedures.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • License: Must be registered through ARDMS or CCI. If not registered upon hire, registration must be obtained within 18 months.
