Overview

Community Corrections Officer | Metro East & West Community Corrections Districts

Employment type: Talent Pool Creation. A talent pool will be created for future ongoing and temporary roles within metro Sydney and is valid for up to 18 months. Salary: $99,938 - $110,271 pa, plus super and leave loading (Clerk Grade 5/6).

Locations: Bankstown, Blacktown, Burwood, Campbelltown, City (Darlinghurst), Fairfield, Hornsby, Leichhardt, Liverpool, Long Bay (Malabar), Mount Druitt, Parklea, Parramatta, Penrith, Silverwater, St Leonards, Sutherland, and Windsor.

What you'll do
  • Join a dedicated team focused on offender rehabilitation and enhancing community safety.
  • Collaborate with individuals under supervision to develop and implement rehabilitative strategies.
  • Monitor progress toward established goals and conduct home visits to ensure compliance with conditions.
  • Support improvement of lives in diverse communities and help build safer communities through effective service delivery.
  • Engage with a variety of stakeholders and provide culturally aware support, with emphasis on Aboriginal and CALD communities.
  • Complete mandatory training and participate in ongoing professional development.

What We're Looking For
  • Understanding of the NSW criminal justice system, case management skills, and knowledge of Aboriginal communities.
  • Commitment to building strong relationships with Community Corrections, local service providers, and Aboriginal communities.
  • Strong values and behaviours focused on ensuring community safety.
  • Ability to foster positive relationships between Communities and Justice, with emphasis on Aboriginal and CALD communities.
  • Exceptional communication, confidentiality, and integrity in all interactions.
  • Experience in case management, resilience, and a proactive, positive attitude.
  • Ability to work from an office and interact face-to-face with people under supervision; cultural sensitivity and awareness.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective strategies and manage emotionally charged situations with decisiveness.
