In this dynamic position, you'll play a key role in supporting patients facing both chronic and acute health challenges. Your work will focus on delivering thorough psychosocial assessments, managing crises, and offering brief, impactful interventions tailored to the individual needs of patients and their families.
As a senior member of our inpatient social work team, you'll lead by example, providing clinical guidance, mentoring staff, contributing to service development initiatives, and driving continuous improvement through education and supervision.

About the RoleLocated at Wyong Hospital, you'll join a skilled and compassionate multi-disciplinary team focused on trauma-informed, patient-centered care. The role primarily supports patients of all ages recovering from neurological events, providing guidance and advocacy for patients, families, and carers.
As a Social Worker, you'll offer tailored support through assessment, counselling, crisis response, and discharge planning - ensuring smooth care transitions and strong links to community services. You'll collaborate closely with clinical teams, senior leaders, and fellow social workers to deliver proactive and impactful psychosocial care.

About YouYou have:
Tertiary qualification in Social Work, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (overseas qualifications must supply the AASW Overseas Assessment number). A demonstrated understanding of the current AASW Practice Standards as they relate to Inpatient Social Work.
Proven experience delivering psychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, and brief therapeutic support within a person-centred and trauma-informed framework, preferably in a clinical or healthcare setting.
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team and skills to support clinical leadership within a team.
