Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Six Degrees Executive Full time
Overview

About the company: Our client has redefined how Australians view and use its products, transforming them from a simple building material into a feature that enhances spaces and experiences. As the nation's largest in its field, it is recognised for precision, reliability, and a progressive outlook. Guided by innovation and a commitment to meeting evolving industry needs, the business works closely with its partners to shape the future — today and beyond.

About the Role: As Commercial Specification Manager, you'll bridge cutting-edge glass products with the projects that need them. You'll work closely with architects and specifiers to have our client's products locked into commercial designs, while watching cost and profit margins. This isn't just about selling — it's about building trust, spotting opportunities, and shaping projects from concept to completion. You'll thrive in a collaborative, supportive culture where we back each other, keep things positive, and stay focused on the national plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with architects, specifiers, and key stakeholders to secure product specifications.
  • Present with confidence—whether it's a CPD, a technical pitch, or a client event.
  • Use BCI & Estimate One to create and maintain a healthy pipeline of commercial projects.
  • Collaborate with sales leaders to turn opportunities into orders while safeguarding margins.
  • Provide technical advice and coordinate product samples to ensure we're top-of-mind for every project.
  • Keep meticulous records in our CRM and contribute market insights to monthly sales meetings.
  • Support internal teams with product knowledge, training, and market updates.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven track record in architectural specification, business development, or technical sales within the building industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen—you're not just about winning the work, but making sure it's profitable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience with CRM systems, data management tools, and MS Office.
  • Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications.
  • Proactive, positive, and solutions-focused with a "let's make it happen" mindset.
  • A natural collaborator who values accountability, supports the team, and keeps their eye on the bigger picture.
