
Senior Data Analyst

Location: Sydney-based role
On-site requirement: 4 days in the office per week. This is a highly collaborative position involving regular face-to-face workshops and close team interaction, making in-office presence essential.
What's the role?As a Senior Data Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in driving data excellence across the business. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting gap analyses and providing actionable recommendations to enhance operational and data workflows.
- Analyzing the business portfolio with a data-first mindset to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Designing and developing robust, end-to-end ETL processes for large datasets, ensuring seamless integration with Power BI and other business applications.
- Creating intuitive, user-friendly Power BI dashboards that deliver meaningful insights and position you as a trusted advisor to stakeholders.
- Offering technical expertise to the technology team, particularly around data workflows and integration.
- Managing business requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Recommending process improvements and business solutions that support changes in policy, procedures, and information management.
- Applying effective problem-solving techniques in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Communicating clearly and confidently, both in writing and verbally, with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Analyzing complex numerical and situational data to recommend well-informed solutions.
- Planning and managing data analysis activities within medium to large-scale projects, contributing to project plans independently.
- Demonstrating best-practice project risk management and delivery methodologies that meet compliance standards.
- Building strong stakeholder relationships to drive strategic outcomes and influence decision-making.
- Solid experience in end-to-end data migration, including data extraction from source systems, transformation, and successful delivery to target environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work on medium to large scale projects, with a strong understanding of project lifecycles and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven track record in analytical roles, including data analysis, credit analysis, and business analysis.
- Extensive commercial experience in delivering Business Intelligence solutions.
- Advanced proficiency in SAS and SQL for data manipulation, analysis and reporting.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, functions and data visualization.
- Hands-on experience with Agile project delivery methodologies and tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Teams.
- Familiarity with Westpac Group Data Warehouses is highly desirable.
- Relevant experience in Banking and Financial Services industry is essential.
