The Opportunity

This role is on a large-scale iron ore development project with a global resources client, currently progressing through intensive construction and early commissioning phases.

You will be part of a high-performing EPCM team working in partnership with multiple contractors, providing the platform to broaden your experience across all facets of project health and safety—from strategy and systems implementation through to on-the-ground engagement and coaching. This opportunity offers both challenge and reward in equal measure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Health & Safety subject matter expert, guiding EPCM and contractor teams to apply industry best practice and meet legislative obligations.

  • Influence positive safety behaviours and practical outcomes through coaching, mentorship, and visible leadership across all levels of the project.

  • Collaborate with contractor management to ensure alignment with the Health & Safety Management System and site-specific safety requirements

  • Lead and participate in incident investigations, including root cause analysis, reporting, and implementation of effective corrective actions.

  • Monitor and report on HSE performance trends and compliance

  • Maintain accurate HSE records and documentation.

What you'll need

  • 8+ years of experience in the mining industry, including construction projects

  • Experience working onRio Tinto/FMG/BHP projects

  • Lead Auditor qualification

  • ICAM Lead Investigator certification

  • Diploma in Occupational/Work Health & Safety

  • Construction Induction

  • Advanced First Aid certification
