Program Manager (Social and Emotional Wellbeing)

Kalwun Development Corporation Ltd is an Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander community controlled organisation currently seeking to fill a vacancy within our Health and Wellbeing Services division. Kalwun Health and Wellbeing Service delivers a primary health care service to the Gold Coast and surrounding communities.

About the Role
The Program Manager (Social & Emotional Wellbeing) will provide leadership to a multi-disciplinary team delivering culturally appropriate clinic and outreach based rehabilitation and support services in mental health and substance misuse to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients across the Gold Coast area.

Position Duties

  • Provide input into the development and implementation of evidence-based substance and misuse health services for the Gold Coast region
  • Develop and refine the framework for clinical and cultural supervision of the social health team
  • Facilitate access to ongoing professional development and workforce development across the service
  • Support staff to provide social and wellbeing supports to clients
  • Contribute to the management and coordination of the service delivery model for case management, mental health wellbeing, alcohol and other drugs, and social needs of clients
  • Manage and supervise the Social Health & Integrated Team Care staff
  • Oversee programs ensuring clients have access to and coordination of comprehensive services
  • Responsible for reporting requirements to PHN and meetings with PHN regarding contractual arrangements
  • Certificate IV or higher in a field related to individual or group work (e.g., social work, community services, youth work, welfare) or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Proven leadership and management skills including program implementation, staff management and quality improvement
  • Demonstrated commitment to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and communities
  • High level of skill and experience in mental health, substance misuse and well-being service development and delivery
  • Knowledge of frameworks and models of mental health and well-being support applicable to urban Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Understanding of the determinants of health affecting mental health and well-being in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing environments

  • This position requires the successful applicant to satisfy a national criminal history check and hold a current drivers license
