Overview

Join the Retail Insurance Australia (RIA) Pricing Strategy team supporting brands like NRMA Insurance to advise and support an extensive range of personal insurance products, including Home, Motor and Niche products. The role focuses on driving technical excellence across pricing initiatives, designing and evaluating pricing solutions, and building capabilities to meet business targets.

Your Role

This is a permanent role that involves experimenting with new pricing approaches, challenging the norm, and creating value through innovative pricing solutions. You will design, build and evaluate pricing models and provide clear, actionable insights to stakeholders.

Location & Eligibility

This position is open to applicants from Meanjin (Brisbane), Naarm (Melbourne) and Gadigal Country (Sydney).

Responsibilities
  • Specialise in driving technical excellence across the RIA pricing team
  • Work on pricing strategic initiatives to enhance critical pricing capabilities
  • Design, experiment, build and evaluate innovative pricing solutions
  • Communicate complex technical concepts and quantitative analyses to stakeholders
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial, Mathematical, Statistics, Data Science or other analytical disciplines
  • 5+ years of experience in general insurance pricing or a related field; familiarity with relevant legislation and regulatory environment
  • Experience building dashboards (R Shiny, Tableau) and programming with analytical software (R, Python, SAS, SQL); Earnix experience is advantageous
  • Experience with pricing methods (GBM, GLM) and pricing model design, build and evaluation
  • Experience with machine learning, statistical analysis, predictive analytics, multivariate testing and optimisation; behavioural models are desirable
  • Strong communication skills, able to explain complex concepts clearly to a range of stakeholders
