Base pay range

A$80.00/hr - A$120.00/hr

We're building something special at Neuroqueer - a support service run by and for neurodivergent and LGBTQIASB+ people. We're here to make sure people like us feel good, feel seen, and feel supported. But we can't do it alone.

So what's the role?

We're looking for an Occupational Therapist to join our growing team. This is a flexible role that can evolve with your availability, interests, and capacity.

We're flexible with how and where you work and for how many hours. You can be based anywhere in Australia and work remotely, support people in the community, or (if you're in naarm/Melbourne) potentially use a dedicated workspace.

You'll work with people who come to us for support - people who are neurodivergent, queer, disabled, or all of the above, helping them build skills, try new things, and feel more confident and connected in the world. We take a low-pressure, person-led approach to therapy and believe deeply in meeting people where they're at.

Some Things You Might Do

• Complete functional assessments in a collaborative, trauma-informed way
• Co-create therapy goals with participants that reflect their values and actual lives
• Provide ongoing therapy, capacity building, or skill development support
• Design and recommend strategies that support sensory regulation, executive functioning, or access needs
• Support people to navigate barriers in daily life - whether that's getting dressed, accessing community, or building routines
• Write clear, strengths-based reports to support NDIS funding or plan reviews
• Collaborate with peer workers and support staff to ensure holistic, consistent support
• Work with people over time in a way that feels safe, sustainable, and affirming for everyone, including you
  
  

About You

We're not after perfection. We're looking for someone kind, thoughtful, and dependable - someone who does the right thing even when no one's watching, keeps people safe, and treats them with respect and warmth.

Ideally, You Have

• Registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist
• Lived experience of neurodivergence and/or being LGBTQIASB+
• Insight into the communities we serve and the barriers we face
• A communication style that's thoughtful and respectful
• A driver licence and access to a reliable, insured car (most travel is local, within 30 minutes, and we reimburse for km's travelled)
• Some experience in disability support, community work, or a related field (a bonus, not a must)
• An NDIS Worker Screening Check (or you're happy to get one)
• The ability to work independently, manage your own time, and check in when needed
  
  

Experience working in NDIS-land or with marginalised communities is a bonus. We're experts in NDIS, so we're also happy to support someone new to the space who aligns with our values.
