Overview

Join to apply for the Psychologist - Acute Care Team role at NSW Health.

Salary: $77,358 - $113,226 per annum + 12% super & salary packaging. Employment type: Temporary Full Time until 18 July 2027. Location: Illawarra. Applications close: 17 September 2025.

This is a temporary parental leave relief position with the possibility of an extension at the same or reduced hours. The position is part of the Illawarra Community Mental Health Service and will play an essential function as part of the Acute Care Team and care coordination of mental health consumers to support recovery and quality of life goals.

A Little About Us. ISLHD operates four hospital sites on Dharawal Country in the Illawarra: Coledale District Hospital, Bulli District Hospital, Wollongong Hospital and Shellharbour Hospital. The Illawarra/South Coast offers a blend of coastal and escarpment living with diverse lifestyle opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Provide psychology services within the Acute Care Team to support recovery and quality of life goals for mental health consumers.
  • Coordinate care as part of the Illawarra Community Mental Health Service.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to plan and deliver patient-centred care.
  • Contribute to rostered duties on a 12 hour rotating schedule.

Requirements
  • Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role.
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • Current AHPRA Registration as a Psychologist.
  • Valid NSW Driver's Licence.
