Position: Senior Policy Officer - Various Contracts

  • Various State Government Contracts (ASO6 - ASO8)

Key Focus: Policy development, legislative review, and ministerial support.

Are you passionate about Strategy, Policy, Legislation, Ministerials, and Briefings? We currently have several contract opportunities for experienced senior Policy Officers and Cabinet & Parliamentary Support Officers with a government background, excellent writing skills, and sound policy, briefing, and ministerial support expertise. If this describes you, please read on.

Responsibilities
  • Updating existing policies and reviewing them against current and new legislation.
  • Developing and writing new policies.
  • Leading research and analysis to inform policy papers and consultation materials.
  • Managing the preparation of internal and ministerial briefings, reports, and policy discussion papers.
  • Preparing parliamentary briefings and cabinet submissions.
  • Providing general administration and project support duties.
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience with policy development and legislation within government.
  • Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and remotely.
  • Strong research and analytical skills for sound judgment and advice on complex issues.
  • Extensive stakeholder engagement experience and ability to advise the executive and ministers on complex matters.
  • Government experience and/or legal background highly desirable.
