Overseer - Facilities Maintenance Trade – NSW Department of Communities and Justice

Location: Francis Greenway Correctional Centre

Employment type: Ongoing, Full Time

Salary: $94,451 pa + Incidental Allowance + Leave Loading + Superannuation

We are looking for a proactive and dedicated Trade Overseer to work at our Facilities Maintenance Unit at the Francis Greenway Correctional Centre.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and develop inmates through managing, coaching, instructing, and encouraging them as members of a team, to improve work skills, enhance post-release employment prospects, and contribute to Service/Business Unit objectives.
  • Oversee the activities of the team to ensure productivity, efficiency and achievement of commercial objectives while ensuring Workplace Health & Safety, Quality Management requirements and customer service needs are met.
  • Participate in paid training to undertake Certificate III in Correctional Practice at an allocated Corrective Services Academy facility.
Qualifications Required
  • Current Certificate III in Correctional Practice or capacity to complete Certificate III in Correctional Practice within CSNSW timeframes.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and willingness to drive a vehicle for the role.
  • Relevant trade or tertiary qualifications: minimum Certificate III in Building/Construction/Metal or a qualified Construction-based trade.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven post-trade experience.
  • Ability to meet key accountabilities and focus capabilities as detailed in the role description.
  • Ability and willingness to work across trades as required.
  • Willingness to participate in a cyclic on-call roster.
