About the role :

As a Regional Operations Leader based at Dry Creek in Adelaide, you'll play a key role in the safe and efficient delivery of Aurizon's rail services. Leading a frontline team, you'll be responsible for managing daily yard and traincrew operations, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable, and cost-effective train services to our customers.

Key responsibilities include :

  • Championing a proactive safety culture, aligned to our "I know SAFE, I choose SAFE" commitment.
  • Managing yard and traincrew operations to meet service demands.
  • Implementing initiatives to reduce asset cycle times and improve train payloads.
  • Ensuring adequate crew levels to support scheduling and rostering.
  • Building positive relationships with your team, including performance and behavioral management.
  • Leading incident investigations and promoting safety outcomes.
  • Monitoring locomotive download data to ensure optimal driving practices.

About you :

You're a confident, safety-focused leader who thrives in fast-paced operational environments and is motivated to deliver high-quality results through people.

You will also bring :

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Frontline Management (preferred).
  • Strong safety leadership skills and incident investigation experience (ICAM preferred).
  • Experience leading teams, assigning tasks, and solving problems in operational settings.
  • The ability to engage, coach, and motivate team members while setting clear direction.
  • Knowledge of train handling, provisioning procedures, network routes, safe working systems, and crew deployment (or the ability to acquire it).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and commercial awareness.
