Overview

Babcock is seeking an experienced and purpose-driven AIC Manager to join our Defence High Frequency Communications Program, based at our Engineering and Technology Hub in Abbotsford, Victoria. This full-time role reports directly to the Program Director and plays a key part in delivering the JP9101 program—supporting sovereign capability and strengthening Australia's defence communications infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the refinement and execution of AIC opportunities in support of the acquisition and sustainment plans, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and national policy frameworks.
  • Work closely with government agencies, education providers, and industry partners to promote STEM pathways, support Indigenous participation, and engage with Veteran Affairs to foster inclusive and impactful supply chain outcomes.
  • Lead the capture of opportunities from concept to contract award, in collaboration with Babcock's Procurement & Supply Chain function.
  • Drive Australian Industry Capability across the program, facilitate knowledge transfer, and enable domestic suppliers to access global opportunities through Babcock's broader network.
  • Support future bid development, contributing to strategic growth across our Defence portfolio.

To be successful, you will bring
  • Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
  • A detailed understanding of Australian Defence and the Government's sovereign industry capability.
  • Extensive Australian Supply Chain management knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management.
  • Experience in working with complex commercial, Government and Defence contracts and procurement processes.
  • Knowledge and application of the Commonwealth's ASDEFCON suite will be advantageous.
  • Experience and knowledge of best practice activities in dealing with suppliers.
  • Established good working relationships with ADF organisations or local industry.
