Woods & Co are proud to be working with one of Australia's top building consultants. The client has a huge amount of work in the pipeline to kick-start September, and this fantastic team result has led to the appointment of an experienced Building Surveyor to join the team.
What do you do?The overall objective of the position is to carry out the role and functions as a representative of the Relevant Building Surveyor in a Building Permit application in relation to Class 2 – 9 buildings. The person should:
- Be able to work independently with limited supervision.
- Attend project meetings for larger development projects.
- Coordinate and attend FRV meetings in conjunction with Fire engineering to finalise regulatory strategy.
- Coordinate Building Surveying BCA and Regulatory strategies for each large commercial project.
- Support Assistant Building Surveyors with training and coordination of workflow and projects.
- Assist in resolving problem issues with projects as well as VBA and Council queries.
- Provide a supportive and supervisory role for Assistant Building Surveyors and Admin support staff.
- Provide support for the Commercial Team Manager.
- Applicant should have a tertiary qualification being a Diploma or a Bachelor's in Building Surveying.
- Highly desirable if the applicant has a Fire engineering qualification.
- Highly desirable that the applicant be registered in the category of BSU or BSL.
- Minimum 3 years experience in Building Surveying checking.
- Thorough knowledge of Building Code of Australia Volume One.
- Thorough knowledge of aspects of the Building Act 1993 and Regulations in relation to Class 2 – 9 buildings.
- Salary ranges from $80,000-$120,000 + Super + Car depending on experience.
