Senior Management Accountant required for a NSW government Dept for 6 Months.

A large and complex business located close to the CBD is looking for a Senior Management Accountant starting ASAP, initially for 6 months.

Your new role
Our client is looking for a Senior Management Accountant to support the strategic finance team. This role will support planning, budgeting and reporting for major and minor capital programmes and recurrent funding.

  • Produce and analyse the monthly forecast for the Capital Program, ensuring accuracy and supporting senior executive decision-making. The forecast supports key decision-making by the senior executive team, including adjustments to the Program, re-prioritisation of projects, acceleration of projects and carry forwards of budget.
  • Quantify and coordinate budget carry forward submissions to external agencies.
  • Manage the prioritisation process for minor capital projects.
  • Provide financial input to the Asset Management Plans.
  • Produce and manage the long-term capital investment plan.
  • Offer financial advice on existing capital projects and new proposals to key stakeholders.
What you'll need to succeed

You will need to be a CA/ CPA qualified Accountant with a strong background in Management Accounting, ideally with experience of planning and reporting for both capital and operational budgets. You must be very experienced at budgeting, forecasting and have excellent analytical skills in excel. Ideally, you will have worked for a large and complex business before and, as this is a temporary contract you will need to be able to start immediately.

What you'll get in return

You will get a temporary contract starting ASAP with a large and well known NSW state government client. This role will focus on budgeting, forecasting, analysis. The role will be for initially 6 months and pay around $70-80/hr + super depending on experience.
