About The Opportunity

Are you passionate about driving high standards in clinical research? South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) is seeking an experienced and dynamic quality leader to oversee and elevate the quality management framework across its Clinical Trials Units.

In this senior role, you'll lead the development and implementation of quality management systems, conduct audits and accreditation processes, and ensure compliance with national and regulatory standards. Your expertise will support risk management, patient safety, and continuous improvement initiatives, helping clinicians deliver safe, effective, and reliable care.

You'll collaborate closely with executives, quality teams, and research stakeholders, including the Ingham Institute for Applied Medical Research. As a strategic driver of change, you'll oversee staff credentialling, guide clinical risk registers, and provide education and training in quality improvement and accreditation.

If you're ready to champion excellence in clinical trial quality—and make a lasting impact on health outcomes—this could be the perfect opportunity.

What You'll Be Doing

To provide strategic leadership for quality, training, and credentialing across all clinical trials units across the SWSLHD.

The position is responsible for developing and promoting a clinical trials quality improvement program, fostering a culture of quality, risk and patient safety, and ensuring compliance with ICH Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care, National Clinical Trials Governance Framework and other relevant regulatory frameworks.

Key focus areas include facilitating and implementing processes to ensure research is conducted in alignment with the above regulatory requirements and the coordination of training and credentialling activities to enhance staff competency and adherence to regulatory standards.

The position provides district-wide leadership in clinical quality and safety for clinical trials, overseeing National Accreditation processes and advising clinical trials staff and executive leadership at SWSLHD.

In partnership with the Clinical Governance Unit at SWSLHD this role ensures the achievement of quality and safety outcomes. The manager will ensure all personnel conducting clinical trials meet regulatory and legislative requirements.

Where You'll Be Working

South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) serves one of Australia's most multicultural regions, providing high-quality, patient-centred care across various hospitals and health services. These include Bankstown-Lidcombe, Bowral & District, Camden, Campbelltown, Fairfield, and Liverpool Hospitals, each offering specialised care.

SWSLHD offers a supportive, innovative, and forward-thinking work environment, with numerous opportunities for professional development and career progression. The district's community health services provide comprehensive care, including prevention, early intervention, and ongoing support, while its mental health services offer both inpatient and community-based care.

Working at SWSLHD means being part of a dedicated team committed to improving health outcomes and making a positive impact on the community.
