Flight Centre Travel Group is seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to join our Corporate Accounts Payable team. The role involves providing financial, administrative, and clerical support to ensure timely and accurate payments to our suppliers. It also includes verifying and reconciling accounting payables in compliance with financial policies and procedures. This is an entry-level position suitable for someone new to accounting or accounts payable, on a 6-12 month contract.
Day in the life...- Review and process invoices received from suppliers
- Follow up with hotels for statements and invoice clients within SLA
- Assist operational staff and suppliers with queries
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accounts payable processes are followed accurately
- Maintain supplier information in the Accounts Payable System
- Manage the entire accounts payable process
- Communicate across divisions, with management, and with vendors
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Basic math and accounting skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Understanding of financial concepts
- Problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively
- Ability to interpret bank statements, invoices, and related documentation
- Strong customer service skills to foster positive relationships with suppliers and partners
- Travel Industry knowledge (Desirable)
- Experience with Accounts Payable or Procure to Pay processes (Desirable)
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (Desirable)
