We are engaged in the entire project cycle from green field studies, feasibility, site investigation, design, construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance, and closure. KCB has an opportunity for an Engineering Geologist to join our integrated and multi-disciplinary team, based in Brisbane. This role will provide you with interesting technical challenges and the opportunity to work closely with other talented professionals committed to delivering high quality engineering and geoscience services to our clients in the Mining and Resources sector.

This role will give you the opportunity to:

  • Fulfill a technical role focussed on engineering geology for mining projects consistent with your experience / background, with the intention of becoming familiar with mining methods and applications in a relatively short period of time. Typical services include:
    • Conceptual and detailed investigations for foundations conditions, in situ material properties, construction materials and construction monitoring of mine waste tailings and waste rock storage facilities.
    • Investigations for civil mining infrastructure – water/sediment dams, roads, and plant site earthworks and foundations.
    • Desktop assessments, primarily geological / geotechnical data collection, manipulation, interpretation, management and reporting.
  • Contribute to engineering reports, drawings, specifications, bill of quantities and cost estimates.
  • Support other projects and groups as required, and when engineering-specific project workloads are light.
  • Operate within and in accordance with KCB's Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management System.

Attributes & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering Geology or a related field;
  • RPGeo certification or eligibility to apply within 24 months of joining;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Proficiency in geotechnical software and tools;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
