Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Based in Mackay and reporting to the National Sales Manager-Coal, the duties and responsibilities associated with this role will include, but are not limited to:

Lead strategic business development initiatives to identify and secure new business opportunities within the QLD coal region.

Build, maintain, and enhance customer relationships through proactive account management and engagement with key decision-makers.

Provide leadership and guidance to the technical sales team, ensuring alignment with company objectives and successful achievement of sales and profitability targets.

Actively promote Sandvik products by conducting technical presentations and demonstrations highlighting the advantages and applications of our ground support solutions.

Conduct regular customer site visits, including underground audits and pull testing, to ensure customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for product and service enhancement.

Prepare detailed reports analysing business performance, identifying market trends, and recommending corrective actions to support continuous business growth.

Negotiate sales and service contracts, manage working capital effectively, and maintain high levels of customer service consistent with agreed service levels.

Be prepared to undertake domestic travel and work underground as necessary to fulfil role requirements.

About You

Proven experience in underground mining, with specific expertise in coal mining, is highly advantageous.

Demonstrated understanding of ground support materials, practices, and application engineering.

Strong business development and customer account management capabilities with a track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.

Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to develop long-lasting customer relationships.

The capability to work autonomously, lead a team effectively, and deliver on strategic business objectives.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, suitable for technical product discussions and negotiations.

Tertiary qualifications in mining, engineering, or a related discipline are highly desirable.
