Permanent Full-Time based at 700 Collins Street.

Overview

We're excited to offer an opportunity to join the Network Assets & Assurance division as a Compliance Lead within the Rolling Stock Team. Reporting to the Head of Asset Management, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering compliance frameworks that ensure Rolling Stock meets its asset management obligations. This role offers the chance to lead positive change, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to a safer, more efficient transport network—through governance of TMP changes, risk management, and assurance of compliant delivery.

Key responsibilities
  • Oversee the management of the Rolling Stock Technical Maintenance Plan (TMP) to ensure effective preventative and predictive maintenance of Rolling Stock Fleets in accordance with Metro's Asset Management commitments, while optimizing life cycle costing (LCC) and TMP compliance.
  • Ensure all obligations are known, measured and delivered by engaging with stakeholders to raise awareness and understanding, enabling ISO audits to achieve accreditation.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of an asset management governance framework, including documenting guidelines and procedures for decision making.
  • Ensure the compliance reporting framework results in assets being managed in alignment with enterprise standards and legislative obligations; changes are effectively managed and governed.
  • Identify, evaluate, coordinate and publish changes to Technical Maintenance Plans (TMPs) Rolling Stock is accountable for, ensuring TMPs are centrally controlled and updated in a coordinated manner (single source of truth).
  • Collaborate with SERQ to manage and perform audits of asset maintenance activities and processes to inform TMP compliance, procedural compliance, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Establish and maintain processes to manage relevant risks so that impacts to safety, commercial outcomes and operational performance are mitigated.
  • Lead asset management process and procedure maturity improvement and coordinate efforts to achieve ISO55001 accreditation and demonstrate continuous improvement using a scoring framework.
About you
  • Process driven, organized and detail oriented.
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in a maintenance environment (ideally 8+ years).
  • Understanding of asset management principles as expressed in ISO55000 and application to MTM Rolling Stock disciplines.
  • Experience in maintaining, updating, and enhancing asset systems.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders outside direct control to achieve business and network outcomes.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills with the ability to articulate problems to both technical and business audiences.

We understand not every candidate will meet 100% of the criteria. If you're excited about this opportunity but don't check every box, we still encourage you to apply—your unique background may be exactly what we need.
