About the role

Permanent Full-Time based at 700 Collins Street.

We're excited to offer an exciting opportunity to join theNetwork Assets & Assurancedivision as aCompliance Leadwithin the Rolling Stock Team. Reporting to the Head of Asset Management, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering compliance frameworks that ensure Rolling Stock meets its asset management obligations. This role offers the chance to lead positive change, drive continuous improvement, and contribute to a safer, more efficient transport network—through governance of TMP changes, risk management, and assurance of compliant delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee the management of the Rolling Stock Technical Maintenance Plan (TMP) to ensure the effective preventative and predictive maintenance of Rolling Stock Fleets in accordance with Metro's Asset Management commitments and ensuring optimisation focused, balanced and efficient maintenance life cycle costing (LCC) and TMP compliance.
  • Ensure all obligations are known, measured and delivered, achieved by engaging with stakeholders to ensure awareness, understanding and co-operation so that ISO audits achieve accreditation.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of an asset management governance framework including documenting guidelines and procedures so there is guidance for decision making.
  • Ensure compliance reporting framework results in assets, plant and equipment being managed in alignment with enterprise standards, legislative obligations and changes are effectively managed and governed.
  • Identify, evaluate, coordinate and publish changes to Technical Maintenance Plans (TMPs) Rolling Stock is accountable for, so that all TMP's are centrally controlled and updated in a coordinated manner providing a single source of truth compliant with all requirements.
  • Collaborate with SERQ to manage and perform a regime of audits of all asset maintenance activities and processes to inform TMP compliance, procedural compliance, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure effective processes are in place to manage relevant risks so that impacts to safety, commercial outcomes and operational performance are mitigated.
  • Lead asset management process and procedure maturity improvement and coordinate so that Rolling Stock achieve ISO55001 accreditation and improve their asset management capability and demonstrate continuous improvement using a scoring framework so that risks to accreditation are known and managed.

About you

  • Process driven, organised and detail oriented.
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or Engineering
  • Extensive experience in maintenance environment - ideally 8 years plus
  • An understanding of the principles of asset management as expressed in ISO55000 and the application of such principles to the MTM Rolling Stock disciplines.
  • Experience in maintaining, updating, enhancing all aspects of asset systems.
  • Ability to influence functions outside of their direct control to achieve best for the business and network outcomes.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills, including the ability to articulate clearly particular problems for both technical and business people.
